Overview
This annual one-day meeting is an exciting program that will highlight world-class faculty discussing up-to-date information about drugs and technologies that are indicated in a variety of common cardiovascular diseases. The content will be oriented toward the entire cardiac care team. The educational objectives of the session will address the skills required of cardiovascular professionals for providing evidence based care to patients with cardiovascular disease. The intimate format of this meeting will allow the audience to interact with invited speakers, network with colleagues from across the state and meet the cardiology fellows-in-training within the state.
Learning Objectives
Review features, current guidelines on management and invasive and novel pharmacotherapies for HCM.
- Discuss newer tools including strain, pressure-volume loops, myocardial work, dyssynchrony, and diastology for assessing ventricular performance of adult congenital heart disease.
- Recognize when to refer patients with suspected genetic cardiovascular diseases for genetic counseling and testing and how to interpret actionable results.
- Explore the burden and identify targets to address health disparities in cardiovascular disease.
- Discuss the types, diagnostic approach, current FDA therapies and ongoing clinical trials in amyloidosis.
- Discuss the current definitions and evidence behind the new definitions of cardiogenic shock.
- Review the different presentation, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of Peripheral Artery Disease in women.
- Review the input from non-gated chest CT, coronary CT and FFR in multiple cardio-oncology settings.
